Film dari Legend of the Wolf (1997) bersinopsis Wolf “Donnie Yen” adalah seorang veteran perang yang menceritakan kisah masa mudanya yang legendaris kepada seorang pembunuh muda pemula “Edmond Leung”. Kilas balik ke masa pasca-Perang Dunia ke-2 ketika Serigala muda “Yen” berkeliaran di pedesaan Tiongkok untuk mencari ingatannya yang hilang. Dia hanya tahu untuk bertemu seseorang di kuil yang ditinggalkan. Dia akhirnya berhubungan dengan penduduk desa setempat “Dayo Wong”, yang bermaksud untuk membimbing Serigala ke tujuannya. Dalam perjalanan, mereka menemukan Wai-Yee “Carmen Lee”, yang telah menunggu Wolf cukup lama. Namun, Wolf masih tidak dapat mengingat apa pun, sampai orang-orang jahat yang “dipimpin oleh Ben Lam” datang mencarinya, dan mereka membawa rahasia mengerikan masa lalu Wolf.
